A journey into the farthest reaches of our Mediterranean past, where you’ll discover artisanal techniques dating back to Sardinian prehistory. Learn to draw with red ocher pigments and to make the decorations and symbols common to Neolithic rock painting. Shape clay pottery with the ancient colombino technique, and sculpt human figures such as the famous Mother Goddess. Polish stones and craft a necklace like those that once adorned eminent people, setting them apart from others.
Connect with the spirit of ancestral communities, visiting some of their sacred monuments and what remains of their workplaces, such as the Prisgiona nuraghe, and the ruins of the huts and workshops that surrounded it, or the sacred “giants’ tomb” in Coddu Ecchju. At the end, a delicious picnic awaits amid a lush green landscape. Sample local delicacies as you sip on wines from the region.
Depart from the Retreat at 9.00 a.m.; return at 12.00 p.m.
The excursion includes: pick up in a private shuttle; an English-speaking guide; and entrance to Prisgiona, Coddu Ecchju and the Labenur Museum, where the workshop will be led by an archaeologist.
